ISWA-Germany is the German National Membership of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), represented by the two German associations DGAW and RETech. Both associations share the German National Membership. ISWA is an international network of waste professionals and experts from around the world whose mission is “To Promote and Develop Sustainable and Professional Waste Management Worldwide and the transition to a circular economy”. Therefore, ISWA Germany is the interface for waste management worldwide.

DGAW and RETech inform on this website about the latest ISWA-Germany activities. In addition, the associations regularly send out an individual newsletter about all ISWA activities and events as well as they organize webinars together to inform about the ISWA Working Groups. The website and the webinars are arranged for members but also for interested persons and organizations. However, to participate in the ISWA Working Groups it is necessary to be a member of DGAW or RETech. Besides that, all members of the associations have access to the ISWA publications “Waste Management & Research” and “Waste Management World” as well as to the “ISWA Knowledge Base”, which provides the latest information on all aspects of waste management.

Prof. Dr. Michael Nelles generously agrees to coordinate our work as a main contact person in charge. He is the chair of Waste and Resource Management department at the University of Rostock and Scientific Managing Director at the German Biomass Research Center as well as a member of both boards, RETech and DGAW.

Become a member to support us in our activities around ISWA Germany and actively participate in the working groups to make a difference together.
